Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Nigerian goalkeeper for Paris FC in the French Division 1 Féminine and the Nigeria women’s national football team, has been recognized as the best in her position for the 2023/2024 French Women’s League. Throughout the season, Nnadozie showcased remarkable skill, featuring in 18 league games for Paris F.C., keeping six clean sheets, and saving two out of three penalties conceded by her team. Her shot-to-save ratio of 70.1% ranks as the second-best in the league, contributing significantly to Paris F.C. securing a Championship play-off spot.

This latest accolade adds to Nnadozie’s impressive resume, which includes winning the Bruno Martini Award for Goalkeeping Revelation of the Season in the 2021/22 campaign. Despite facing tough competition, she claimed the prestigious D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year award for the 2023/2024 season, surpassing notable goalkeepers like Lyon’s Christiane Endler and PSG’s Katarzyna Kiedrzynek.

Nnadozie expressed her gratitude for the award on social media, thanking her teammates, coaches, family, and fans for their support. As she prepares to represent Nigeria in the upcoming 2024 Olympics tournament in Paris, Nnadozie is expected to showcase her exceptional talent on the international stage.

Nnadozie’s journey to success began when she signed for Rivers Angels at the start of the 2016 season and later moved to Paris FC in January 2020. Her international career highlights include playing in the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where she won the “Dare to Shine” Player of the Match award, and being part of the Nigerian squad for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where she became the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet.

With her recent achievements and continuous progress, Chiamaka Nnadozie has proven herself as a standout goalkeeper, embodying authenticity, progress, and the pursuit of change in women’s football.
