Pete Edochie Receives Honorary Doctorate at 76: A Lifetime of Achievements

Veteran Nollywood icon, Pete Edochie, often referred to as Ebubedike, has achieved a remarkable milestone at the age of 76. On a recent Saturday, Pete was bestowed with an honorary Doctorate in Literature, Doctorate in Arts, and a prestigious lifetime achievement award by ISTM University in Togo.

Representatives from the university visited the esteemed actor at his home to present him with these illustrious awards, recognizing his profound contributions to the creative industry. In their words, “For all the works he has been doing, and he has been the pioneer in everything that all the younger ones are copying.”

Pete Edochie has been honoured with his first doctorate degree, at 76.

Pete Edochie’s legendary career has garnered him numerous accolades, both nationally and internationally. Some of his previous honors include the Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), membership in the Order of the Niger (MON), the AMVCA Industry Merit Award, and the City People Entertainment Lifetime Achievement Award, among several others.
