Crystal Ball Predicts Thrilling Rerun Spectacle for 2023 Election

Labour Party Chairman Alerts Members to Alleged Preparations for 2023 Presidential Election Rerun by APC

Labour Party Chairman Urges Members to Stay Vigilant Amidst Speculations of Presidential Election Rerun

In a recent online meeting with the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy, led by Professor Eddie Oparaoji, Barrister Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, expressed his concerns regarding the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) allegedly making preparations for a possible rerun of the 2023 Presidential Election. The meeting, held on Monday, aimed to discuss strategies and gather support from the Labour Party Diaspora Chairman in the United States.

Addressing the party’s over 10 million members, Abure called for vigilance and readiness to “further humiliate APC and its government in the polls if their sinister plot materializes.” Obiora Ifoh, the Acting National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, quoted Abure’s statement in a press release, urging party members to be on high alert.

Abure emphasized the need for preparedness, stating, “Rumors have it that those in government are already planning for a rerun, and this is one of the supports we will be canvassing from you. We should also be getting prepared because since all those in government are already preparing for a rerun, we too should not be taken unawares.”

While expressing confidence in the legitimacy of their election victory, Abure made it clear that the Labour Party’s primary objective is the outright declaration of Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria. However, in the event that a rerun becomes a reality, he stressed the importance of the party being ready to contest the election.

Abure assured party members that all evidence supporting their claim has been presented to the court, and they remain hopeful for a favorable ruling. He expressed confidence that even if the matter reaches the Supreme Court, it will also rule in their favor. Abure emphasized the need to build on the party’s recent successes in changing the political landscape of the country within nine months and to strategically position themselves for the benefit of Nigeria’s marginalized population.

Contributing to the discussion, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze, Director of the ObiDatti Presidential Campaign, called on ObiDatti members in the diaspora to view the struggle to reclaim their mandate as a collective responsibility that cannot be abandoned. He emphasized the importance of citizens, particularly those in the diaspora, contributing their expertise and resources to make Nigeria a great nation.

Obaze emphasized that the campaign for change is an ongoing process and encouraged members to remain focused on their respective sectors. He expressed gratitude for the support from party members in the diaspora and assured them that those on the ground would continue to fight for their cause.

As the political landscape in Nigeria remains uncertain, the Labour Party and its supporters stand poised to defend their mandate and ensure a fair and just electoral process. The party leadership calls upon its members to remain vigilant and prepared for any eventuality, maintaining their commitment to democratic principles and the betterment of the country.
