Background

Gpenzy’s journey in the music industry has been nothing short of remarkable. Born Ogbonna Godspower in Abia State, Nigeria, on June 30, 1995, Gpenzy spent his formative years in Lagos before moving to Effurun, Delta State, at the age of 15. After studying Petroleum Engineering at FUPRE for four years and later pursuing a degree in Industrial Chemistry at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), Gpenzy decided to pivot his career towards music.

In 2016, Gpenzy made his musical debut with the release of “Simbi,” marking the beginning of a promising career in the music industry. Influenced by artists such as Jason Derulo, Rotimi, SAINt JHN, and Burna Boy, Gpenzy’s music is a unique blend of Afro-pop, RnB, and Afro beats, showcasing his diverse musical influences and artistic versatility.

Over the years, Gpenzy has garnered several accolades and achievements, including being named the Next Rated Artist in Anambra State in 2016 and winning the Creative Artist of the Year award at the Escape Awards in 2017. In 2018, he emerged as the winner of The Sctage Season One, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the Nigerian music scene.

In addition to his musical talents, Gpenzy is also known for his charismatic personality and magnetic stage presence. Affiliated with Big Music Group and AVO, Gpenzy has captivated audiences with his electrifying performances and infectious energy, earning him the reputation of being a ladies’ man with his handsome looks and melodic voice.
